Lancaster’s most beloved Valentine’s Gala is back, making headlines across Central Pennsylvania! Lancastrians have waited three years, and all agree:
It’s Time to Have A Ball!
It’s been three years since we’ve been together indoors to raise a glass to our shared love of history, and we’re ready to hit the dance floor with you! LancasterHistory’s 19th Valentine’s Gala will celebrate the joy of being together, as we draw inspiration from past parties of historic proportions.
One such party occurred in 1966, when writer Truman Capote threw the “Party of the Century,” an extravagant ball that made headlines across the nation. Masked party-goers, dressed in black and white, came together to dance the night away in a minimally-decorated room …after all, Capote felt that the Ball’s true decoration was a room full of happy people!
As we look back at the many celebrations Lancastrians have enjoyed in our community over the decades, we rejoice in the chance to come together in the present.
Let’s make headlines! Let’s make history! Let’s have a ball!
