Civil War Day

York was caught in the crossfire of the war and even surrendered to the Confederates in the Summer of 1863. Our Civil War Day showcases the stories of Yorkers, people of the Susquehanna Valley, and beyond. We are joined by reenactors from the 87th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Sister Catherine of the Sisters of Charity portrayed by Dominish Miller and William Goodridge portrayed by Kelly Summerford. Additionally, Mayor Helfrich will portray A.B. Farquhar in a dramatic interpretation of the Surrender of York with Michael Sipes as General Jubal Early. Visit our website for the tentative schedule.
