We’re a little over halfway through October — can you believe it?! That means Halloween events will be in full swing over the next few weeks. And it can be overwhelming, trying to figure out where to trick or treat, and what time, and which places are doing trunk-or-treats… ugh!

(It’s also just the beginning of the holiday roller coaster, but hang in there, mama. We got this.)

For now, we’ll just focus on Halloween, and all the awesome events going on around South Central PA! There is so much spooky fun to be had, you’re sure to find something your little goblins and ghouls will love. Halloween Parade: Amity Township. October 22nd, 6:30pm. Join us for this year’s Halloween parade at the Amity Recreation Facilities at Lake Drive. Groups and floats welcome, Costume contest, Cash prizes awarded, Pet category, Free refreshments to registered participants, Food Vendors, Music by One 2 One Productions.


Trick or Treat at the Museum: Reading Public Museum, Reading. October 26th, 9:00am – 11:00am. Join Museum Educators and other community partners as we celebrate Halloween with a safe trick-or-treating event at The Museum. Children will receive Halloween and fall-themed crafts to take home in addition to coupons and snacks provided by our sponsors as they travel to the various treat stations throughout our galleries. Families will also have an opportunity to meet Buddy the Dinosaur from PBS Kids Dinosaur Train at this event!


Wernersville Halloween Parade: Downtown Wernersville. October 26th, 11:00am. Spooks, ghouls, witches, wizards, monsters, and more. Come out and enjoy some spooky, scary, or even cute Halloween revelers for the Wernersville Halloween Parade.


Investigation Station – Spooky Science: Reading Science Center, Reading. October 26th, 11:00am – 3:00pm. Investigate Spooky Science with us! Every Saturday in October, we will investigate different spooky science! Learn how edible “glass” is made, concoct a witch’s brew, or play with Vampire slime.

Together, we will determine if it’s spooky or fun science. Interact with different materials and substances; together, we will have a spooktacular time!

Investigation Station is a monthly rotating hands-on discovery exhibit included with admission on Saturdays (open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and runs sessions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. Children under 2 are free. We validate parking in the Double Tree Convention Garage. please bring your license plate number when you enter the Reading Science Center and check in with a staff member.


Halloween on Penn: 600 Block of Penn Street, Reading. October 30th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Join us for the 4th Annual Halloween on Penn in @DowntownReading! Mayor Eddie Morán invites you and your family to join him alongside many of our local businesses and organizations for a fun trick or treat event in the heart of our city!

Trick or Treat Night at BHC: Berks History Center, Reading. October 31st, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. This is the perfect family-friendly event to celebrate Halloween with a twist of local history.

Join us for an evening filled with Halloween treats and historical delights as we open the doors to our museum for free admission. Explore the rich heritage of Berks County while enjoying a variety of trick-or-treat stations scattered throughout the museum.

This event is held in conjunction with the Centre Park Historic District’s Trick or Treat Night, creating a delightful and engaging experience for the whole community. Bring your family, don your favorite Halloween costumes, and immerse yourselves in a night of history and fun. We look forward to seeing you there for an enchanting evening of treats, history, and Halloween magic!


Halloween at Centre Park: Centre Park Historic District, Reading. October 31st, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Treats, hot dogs, music and surprises. Costumes encouraged! Located at Centre Park at the 700 block of Centre Ave. In case of rain, come to the CPHD headquarters – 707 N. 5th Street.

Trunk or Treat: Carlisle Family YMCA, Carlisle. October 24th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Pack up your goblins and ghouls in their costumes, decorate your trunk and park in our Y lot for some FREE Trunk-or-Treating fun for the whole family!

PARTICIPATING TRUNK DETAILS & GUIDELINES

–Participating vehicles can arrive as early as 5pm to set up and must stay for the whole event (6-8pm)
–Trunks must be decorated with family-friendly decor (no blood, guts, gore, inappropriate images or language, etc.)
–Participating vehicles supply candy to hand out to our Y trick-or-treaters
–Family-friendly costumes are encouraged!


Trunk or Treat: Silver Spring Community Fire Company, Mechanicsburg. October 25th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Our 3rd annual Trunk-or-Treat is coming up. You won’t want to miss it!


Lemoyne PumpkinFest: Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne. October 26th, 10:00am – 2:00pm. We are partnering with Grace UM Church in Lemoyne for the Lemoyne Pumpkinfest! Featuring vendors, food trucks, and FREE Fall fun, crafts, and games!! Proceeds will benefit the Pink Hands of Hope and Vickie’s Angel Foundation.


Historic Halloween: Shippensburg History Center, Shippensburg. October 26th, 11:00am – 2:00pm. Join the Shippensburg History Center for its historic Halloween festivities. Turn a turnip into a Jack-o-Lantern and play games, and more.


Sensory-Friendly Halloween Treat Trail: Neurodiverse Network Community Center, New Cumberland. October 26th, 12:00pm – 3:00pm. Our indoor event will include:

-Multiple treat stations
-Halloween crafts
-Snacks
-other fun activities

Inclusive event: recommended for children, Open to ALL! $5 Donation* per child (no cost for infants or adults) *Must pre-register and choose a time slot! Please sign the waiver if this is your first time at our event!

Shippensburg Pumpkin Festival: Shippensburg Fairgrounds, Shippensburg. October 26th – 27th. You’re invited to the third annual Shippensburg Pumpkin Festival! Join us October 26-27 for two fantastic days of live pumpkin carving as well as food trucks, fall craft vendors, activities for kids, and more. Join us!


Community Trunk or Treat: Carlisle United Methodist Church, Carlisle. October 26th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Enjoy a fun and safe evening of Trick or Treating for FREE candy through our trail of trunks! There will be food, crafts, and games. For kids thru 5th grade. Costumes optional


Shippensburg Halloween Parade: Downtown Shippensburg. October 26th, 7:00pm. Join the fun and celebrate this spooktacular season at the 37th Annual Shippensburg Halloween Parade on Saturday, Oct. 26th at 7 PM. 🌧 Rain Date: Tues., Oct 29th at 7 PM.


Camp Hill Halloween Parade: Downtown Camp Hill. October 28th, 6:00pm.  On October 28th, we held our Halloween and Activity Night. October 29th will be the rain date.

Floats must be at Trinity Lutheran Church prior to 5:30 PM. All other participants should register at the church parking lot between 5:00 – 5:45 PM. The parade starts at 6 PM.

Newville Halloween Parade: Downtown Newville. October 28th, 7:00pm. Show up and enjoy the fun of a small-town celebration with music, food, cars, costumes, and more. The line-up is at 6:00 pm on Broad Street. Rain date: October 29.


Trunk or Treat at the Willows: The Willows at Ashcombe Mansion, Mechanicsburg. October 30th, 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Hershey Halloween Parade: Derry Township Community Center, Hershey. October 24th, 7:00pm.
The Township of Derry Department of Parks and Recreation will be hosting the 76th Annual Hershey Halloween Parade along with our event sponsor, Hershey Federal Credit Union on Thursday October 24, 2024, at 7:00pm. A special thank you to The Hershey Company for donating the candy for the spectators along the parade route! Pumpkin Palooza: Hershey Gardens, October 25th – 26th. Kids, come in costume and trick or treat at four Hershey’s candy stations, enjoy over 200 painted pumpkins, a unique 14-foot “pumpkin tree” and the perfect photo backdrop of pumpkin mosaics! Plus, stop by to see if you can handle the Creepy Creatures Gallery! Guests can also enjoy food trucks and hundreds of mums on display, including a colorful 9-foot mum tree!

Halifax Halloween Parade: Veterans Park, Halifax. October 26th, 6:00pm. See the parade, get candy, and win prizes!


Middletown Halloween Parade: Hoffer Park, Middletown. October 26th, 7:00pm. It’s that time of year again. The Middletown Moose Lodge 410 is hosting the Halloween parade. The parade is on Saturday, October 26 starting at 7pm.


Trick or Treat Trek: Fort Hunter Mansion and Park, Harrisburg. October 27th, 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Calling all ghosts and ghouls! Come in costume to Fort Hunter Park for the Trick or Treat Trek. Follow the clues to keep your search on track. Your reward? Goodies at each stop along the way!

We love seeing everyone in costume; but, for the safety of all guests, please be sure to leave all toy knives, guns, swords, and other sharp objects at home. Don’t worry, you won’t need them for this quest.

This adventure is for those ages 12 & younger. Some treats may not be appropriate for infants and toddlers. Adult supervision is required. At least one responsible adult must accompany the children attending.

This is a FREE event, with limited capacity.
Timed tickets are required to participate and will be collected or scanned from your mobile device at entry.
Everyone in your group attending the event should be registered – children and adults. Children aged 12 & younger are registered as a separate ticket type since they will be trick or treating.
Please register all of your participants for the same arrival time slot.

Hummelstown Halloween Parade: Downtown Hummelstown. October 28th, 7:00pm. Get ready to haunt the streets of Hummelstown at the annual Halloween Parade on October 28th at 7PM!

The parade will kick off at the intersection of Water and High Streets, proceeding west on High Street, turning right onto Walnut Street, and then right again onto Main Street heading east. The festivities will disperse just past the square at Water Street.

Don’t miss this enchanting display of community spirit and Halloween cheer! Grab your costumes and head to downtown Hummelstown on October 28th.


Halloween Parade and Candy Drop: Riverside Firehouse, Harrisburg. October 29th, 5:30pm – 7:30pm. The beloved Halloween Parade and Candy Drop returns on Oct. 29, the Tuesday before trick-or-treat night (rain date Oct. 30).

If you’re new to Riverside, the Halloween Parade and Candy Drop is the night when kids dress in their costumes, gather with their families at the Riverside Firehouse for refreshments and fun, and march for a couple of blocks around the neighborhood behind a city fire truck.

It all culminates when a firefighter climbs into the bucket truck to release bins full of candy to all the kids waiting below.

It’s a night for making memories.

You can help by dropping off candy donations in advance at 2941 Green Street, HBG. Please call or text Kimmy Pianka at 724-331-0486 and set up a time to drop off. Volunteers are also needed to set up and tear down the food tables, walk the parade route, and hand out food. We are also looking for individuals and businesses to sponsor the event. Trick or Treat Hummelstown: Hummelstown Square, Hummelstown. October 31st, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Join the spooktacular fun at the Hummelstown Trick-or-Treat event on Thursday, October 31st from 6-8PM. Dress up in your most frightfully fabulous costumes and hit the streets of downtown Hummelstown for a night of enchanting excitement. Local businesses will be handing out tasty treats and hosting eerie entertainment. It’s sure to be a howling good time for the whole family. Don’t miss this spirited celebration in the heart of Hummelstown. Come out and make some ghoulishly great memories on All Hallows’ Eve!

Trick or Treat at the Nook: Spooky Nook Sports, Manheim. October 22nd, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Halloween is right around the corner, and we are excited to host our annual Trick or Treat event at The Nook! This indoor event will consist of local vendors and Nook departments as stops on a Trick or Treat path through our facility. Give your costumes a test-run and show us your Halloween spirit! For an additional fee, Spooky Zone and VIP tickets are available.Food & beverage options will be available for purchase on-site.  All guests should use the 75 Champ Blvd. entrance for arrival and parking. Parking is free for this event.


Trick-or-Treating on the Farm: Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, Ronks. October 25th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm. It’s that time of year again! Are you going to play a trick or get a treat? Visit Cherry Crest on October 25 in your costume to Trick or Treat at the farm! Trick or Treat is from 4-6pm, for kids 12 and under in costume, or until candy runs. (No scary masks please!) Spooktacular Family Fun Night: Mount Joy Chamber, Mount Joy. October 25th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The Mount Joy Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing this annual downtown trick-or-treat night, which will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM. Main Street will be closed from Barbara Street to New Haven Street to accommodate foot traffic.

Lititz Lions Halloween Parade: Downtown Lititz. October 28th, 7:00pm. Spooky fun marches down Main Street during the Lititz Lions Halloween Parade! Grab a spectating spot along the route and get ready to be wowed by all the cool costumes. Here’s how it works:

The 2024 Lititz Lions Halloween Parade is a night-time event held on October 28th, starting at 7PM at Locust and Main Streets. The parade travels west on Main Street, ending at the square (the intersection of Main and Broad Streets). The Lions Food Stand and Parade Judges will be located at the intersection of Main and Cedar Streets.

Trunk or Treat: St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Annville. October 25th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Vehicle registration is only open to registered parishioners, but the event is open to the community. Join St. Paul’s for candy, hot dogs, popcorn, games, prizes, and Halloween fun!

The Addams Family Interactive Movie: The Allen Theatre, Annville. October 27th, 12:30pm. The Annville Free Library will be hosting a special event featuring The Addams Family movie (1991 version) at the Allen Theater on Sunday, October 27th. $20 admission gets you one movie ticket ($8 value), a small popcorn and drink, pictures with the Addams Family at our photo booth, trivia & prizes, a magician performance, and a goody bag with props for the interactive movie. The Downtown Inc team is excited to join the Parks and Recreation’s Trunk or Treat fun at City Hall again this Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30pm! Bring the whole family, dress up in your favorite costumes, and enjoy an evening of safe, festive fun. The event will feature music, candy, prizes, and more, all happening in the City Hall parking lot at 101 S. George St. We can’t wait to see you there for a spooky good time!



Codorus Trick or Treat: Codorus State Park. October 25th – 26th.
Over 100 Halloween displays to walk through as the kids trick or treat at the park! Family-friendly. Food vendors. Nature Tent. Music! The park is stroller-friendly. Must have a ticket for admission. $20 per carload. (No buses.)

Halloween Express: Northern Central Railway of York, York. October 26th. All aboard ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes! All riders are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costume to enjoy this ride to Glen Rock. After your train returns to our New Freedom station, children are invited to participate in the trunk-or-treat located at Vortex Brewery on Franklin Street. (weather permitting).

Rides are at 10:00am and 12:00pm.


Halloween Costume Express: Stewartstown Railroad Company, Stewartstown. October 26th. This Halloween train ride is a safe, family friendly event. Our Halloween Costume Special is all about the passengers’ costumes, so dress up in your favorite costume and show it off! Prizes will be awarded to the best costume for these age categories: children under 2, children 2-12 and adults and big kids over 12. Every child receives a treat. Fun for all ages! Our 1920 passenger coach will be decorated for Halloween. Or ride if you dare, ride in the open-air car and see if you can spot the spooks who live in the woods. This train ride is about 50-60 minutes long. Times listed are departure times. Please arrive 30 minutes early to pick up your ticket. Children under 2 are free. Our train rides are rain or shine!

Rides are at 4:00pm, 5:15pm, and 6:30pm.


Trick or Treat in the Ballpark: WellSpan Park, York. October 26th, 12:00pm. Join us for Tick or Treat in the ballpark presented by Checkmate Entertainment on October 26th at noon! Enjoy music, games, and plenty of spooky fun!


Trunk or Treat: The Markets at Shrewsbury, York. October 26th, 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Join us at The Markets at Shrewsbury for our annual Trunk or Treat event this October 26th, rain or shine! All children and participating vehicles must be registered to attend and participate.

In years past, we’ve had up to an estimated 300 trunk-or-treaters attend! After collecting candy, stop inside and visit some of our food merchants for Autumn-inspired, pumpkin-baked goods!

Wernersville Halloween Parade: Downtown Wernersville. October 26th, 11:00am. Spooks, ghouls, witches, wizards, monsters, and more. Come out and enjoy some spooky, scary, or even cute Halloween revelers for the Wernersville Halloween Parade.


Investigation Station – Spooky Science: Reading Science Center, Reading. October 26th, 11:00am – 3:00pm. Investigate Spooky Science with us! Every Saturday in October, we will investigate different spooky science! Learn how edible “glass” is made, concoct a witch’s brew, or play with Vampire slime.

Together, we will determine if it’s spooky or fun science. Interact with different materials and substances; together, we will have a spooktacular time!

Investigation Station is a monthly rotating hands-on discovery exhibit included with admission on Saturdays (open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and runs sessions from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. Children under 2 are free. We validate parking in the Double Tree Convention Garage. please bring your license plate number when you enter the Reading Science Center and check in with a staff member.


Halloween on Penn: 600 Block of Penn Street, Reading. October 30th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Join us for the 4th Annual Halloween on Penn in @DowntownReading! Floats must be at Trinity Lutheran Church prior to 5:30 PM. All other participants should register at the church parking lot between 5:00 – 5:45 PM. The parade starts at 6 PM.

Middletown Halloween Parade: Hoffer Park, Middletown. October 26th, 7:00pm. It’s that time of year again. The Middletown Moose Lodge 410 is hosting the Halloween parade. The parade is on Saturday, October 26 starting at 7pm.


Trick or Treat Trek: Fort Hunter Mansion and Park, Harrisburg. October 27th, 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Calling all ghosts and ghouls! Come in costume to Fort Hunter Park for the Trick or Treat Trek. Follow the clues to keep your search on track. Your reward? Goodies at each stop along the way!

We love seeing everyone in costume; but, for the safety of all guests, please be sure to leave all toy knives, guns, swords, and other sharp objects at home. Don’t worry, you won’t need them for this quest.

This adventure is for those ages 12 & younger. Some treats may not be appropriate for infants and toddlers. Adult supervision is required. At least one responsible adult must accompany the children attending.

Hummelstown Halloween Parade: Downtown Hummelstown. October 28th, 7:00pm. Get ready to haunt the streets of Hummelstown at the annual Halloween Parade on October 28th at 7PM!

The parade will kick off at the intersection of Water and High Streets, proceeding west on High Street, turning right onto Walnut Street, and then right again onto Main Street heading east. The festivities will disperse just past the square at Water Street.

Don’t miss this enchanting display of community spirit and Halloween cheer! Grab your costumes and head to downtown Hummelstown on October 28th.


Halloween Parade and Candy Drop: Riverside Firehouse, Harrisburg. October 29th, 5:30pm – 7:30pm. The beloved Halloween Parade and Candy Drop returns on Oct. 29, the Tuesday before trick-or-treat night (rain date Oct. 30).

If you’re new to Riverside, the Halloween Parade and Candy Drop is the night when kids dress in their costumes, gather with their families at the Riverside Firehouse for refreshments and fun, and march for a couple of blocks around the neighborhood behind a city fire truck.

It all culminates when a firefighter climbs into the bucket truck to release bins full of candy to all the kids waiting below.

It’s a night for making memories.

You can help by dropping off candy donations in advance at 2941 Green Street, HBG. Please call or text Kimmy Pianka at 724-331-0486 and set up a time to drop off. Volunteers are also needed to set up and tear down the food tables, walk the parade route, and hand out food. We are also looking for individuals and businesses to sponsor the event. Trick or Treat at the Nook: Spooky Nook Sports, Manheim. October 22nd, 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Halloween is right around the corner, and we are excited to host our annual Trick or Treat event at The Nook! This indoor event will consist of local vendors and Nook departments as stops on a Trick or Treat path through our facility. Give your costumes a test-run and show us your Halloween spirit! For an additional fee, Spooky Zone and VIP tickets are available.Food & beverage options will be available for purchase on-site.  All guests should use the 75 Champ Blvd. entrance for arrival and parking. Parking is free for this event.


Trick-or-Treating on the Farm: Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, Ronks. October 25th, 4:00pm – 6:00pm. It’s that time of year again! Are you going to play a trick or get a treat? Lititz Lions Halloween Parade: Downtown Lititz. October 28th, 7:00pm. Spooky fun marches down Main Street during the Lititz Lions Halloween Parade! Grab a spectating spot along the route and get ready to be wowed by all the cool costumes. Here’s how it works:

The 2024 Lititz Lions Halloween Parade is a night-time event held on October 28th, starting at 7PM at Locust and Main Streets. The parade travels west on Main Street, ending at the square (the intersection of Main and Broad Streets). The Lions Food Stand and Parade Judges will be located at the intersection of Main and Cedar Streets.

The Downtown Inc team is excited to join the Parks and Recreation’s Trunk or Treat fun at City Hall again this Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30pm! Bring the whole family, dress up in your favorite costumes, and enjoy an evening of safe, festive fun. The event will feature music, candy, prizes, and more, all happening in the City Hall parking lot at 101 S. George St. We can’t wait to see you there for a spooky good time!

Halloween Express: Northern Central Railway of York, York. October 26th. All aboard ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes! All riders are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costume to enjoy this ride to Glen Rock. After your train returns to our New Freedom station, children are invited to participate in the trunk-or-treat located at Vortex Brewery on Franklin Street. (weather permitting).

Rides are at 10:00am and 12:00pm.


Halloween Costume Express: Stewartstown Railroad Company, Stewartstown. October 26th. This Halloween train ride is a safe, family friendly event. Our Halloween Costume Special is all about the passengers’ costumes, so dress up in your favorite costume and show it off! Prizes will be awarded to the best costume for these age categories: children under 2, children 2-12 and adults and big kids over 12. Every child receives a treat. Fun for all ages! Our 1920 passenger coach will be decorated for Halloween. Or ride if you dare, ride in the open-air car and see if you can spot the spooks who live in the woods. This train ride is about 50-60 minutes long. Times listed are departure times. Please arrive 30 minutes early to pick up your ticket. Children under 2 are free. Our train rides are rain or shine!

Rides are at 4:00pm, 5:15pm, and 6:30pm.


Trick or Treat in the Ballpark: WellSpan Park, York. October 26th, 12:00pm. Join us for Tick or Treat in the ballpark presented by Checkmate Entertainment on October 26th at noon! Enjoy music, games, and plenty of spooky fun!


Trunk or Treat: The Markets at Shrewsbury, York. October 26th, 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Join us at The Markets at Shrewsbury for our annual Trunk or Treat event this October 26th, rain or shine! All children and participating vehicles must be registered to attend and participate.
