As part of our “Animals in Winter” series, this explore & play class (ages 2-8) focuses on what humpback whales do to survive the winter.
Mini Explorer Club provides educational, children’s “explore and play” classes with a focus on outdoor, sensory, and artistic play. Typically, classes will include an opening circle with a story, short lesson, play activity, and closing circle. Mini explorers are not expected to sit still!
Classes are offered in series which feature similar topics or themes. Each individual class has a unique activity and lesson. This class is part of our Winter 2023 “Animals in Winter Series” and focuses on humpback whales through an invitation to engage in sound and sensory play through music, straining activities, and other whale-themed activities.
Suggested age range for this event is 2-8. This age range is only a suggestion. We believe in the benefits of mixed age play. MEC believes in inclusivity and welcomes everyone.
Parents are required to stay and are encouraged to play and learn right alongside their mini explorer.
Children under age 2 are free with a paid older sibling.
Please plan to bring: weather appropriate, comfy play clothes (maybe even a spare set?) in layers, a water bottle, and a blanket or chair to sit on.
