Lancaster Symphony Orchestra: Freedom and Fate

Not one double concerto, but TWO! Xavier Foley’s original work, For Justice and Peace, was composed to mark the 400 years of slavery since the arrival of the slave ship “White Lion” in Jamestown, Virginia. Foley & Wright will also perform the virtuosic Gran Duo Concertante by Giovanni Bottesini. In the concert’s second half, life’s uncertainties will wrestle with the spirit to prevail in Simon’s Fate Now Conquers and Beethoven’s landmark Fifth Symphony.
