Mother’s Day Container Workshop for Youth

Youth ages 4-12 are invited to the Mother’s Day Container Workshop for Youth held on Saturday, May 6, 10am-12pm, at the Penn State Extension office in Carlisle. Make and take home a colorful container of flowers and herbs for Mother’s Day, May 14!
With the help of Penn State Master Gardeners, you will learn how to plant and care for your container of annuals and herbs, make a decoration to brighten your container, and make a special card. Plants include lantana, marigold, parsley, petunia and verbena.
Preparing this special Mother’s Day gift a week in advance ensures the plants have a few days to settle in your container garden with proper care before gifting.
Come any time during workshop hours. Recommended for youth ages 4 to 12. A parent or guardian must remain with the youth registrant.
Registration is limited to 30 youth. The registration fee is $10.00 per youth registrant and includes the container, soil, plants, and supplies.
