Scotty McCreery with Spencer Crandall, American Music Theatre, Lancaster. March 8th. Scotty McCreery made history as both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any genre to debut his first studio album at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. With his deep, strong, country voice, this ACM, CMT, and ACA award winner – and Grand Ole Opry inductee in 2024 – has achieved new heights in the last few years by earning three back-to-back #1 hits from his Seasons Change album. McCreery has ridden the charts with hits like “Five More Minutes,” “This Is It,” “In Between,” “I Love You This Big,” “Barefootin’,” “The Trouble with Girls,” “See You Tonight,” and “Feelin’ It.”
Spencer Crandall is one of Country’s most progressive new talents, self-made and as dynamic as they come. Driven toward greatness, he’s got no remorse for his big dreams, and pulls no punches with his ever-evolving sound. The Nashville based artist has spent years combining pop’s untamed energy with the confessional lyricism of Country, opening up territory no one before him even knew existed – and with his ambitious new 20-track album, Western, the frontier expands again. Growing up in Denver with a tight knit family, the creative powerhouse was taught hard work and dedication, and learned his lessons well – even playing football in college. But when injuries ended his career, the standout athlete was officially out of his comfort zone. Fully embracing his natural, genre-defying instincts, with ultra-smooth vocals, deeply-personal themes and hot-blooded performances, Crandall now counts 1.2M monthly Spotify listeners, 250M total career streams, more than 2.6M followers on TikTok, and fan engagement so off the charts it drives sold-out shows around the nation. He released three albums before Western, made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022, and continues pushing toward the ultimate goal of a sold-out stadium performance.

Pennsylvania’s Birthday, Daniel Boone Homestead, Birdsboro. March 9th. The Daniel Boone Homestead Associates are excited to kick off their 2025 season with their annual Open House event – Pennsylvania’s Birthday. Formerly known as Charter Day, this event recognizes the day William Penn received his land grant for Pennsylvania from King Charles II of England in 1681. In observance of Pennsylvania’s founding, the Daniel Boone Homestead will offer an exciting open house and living history event featuring eighteenth century demonstrations, trades, and hands-on activities including the operation of the unique Bertolet Sawmill. Additional demonstrations include leatherworking, sewing, wool dyeing, gunsmithing, and blacksmithing. And back for their second year, we are so happy to have Stonehouse History joining us again, demonstrating tape loom weaving and traditional woodworking.
Visitors can tour the spring cellar and Boone House as they learn about the three families who lived there during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Other buildings in the historic area will also be open for viewing including the Smokehouse, Blacksmith Shop, and Homestead Barn.
Throughout the historic area, visitors can learn about the skillful work of a blacksmith, the detailed work of a leatherworker, and the intricate work of a gunsmith. Visitors can also tour the three-room Bertolet Log House and enjoy colonial toys and games. Staff will be operating the Bertolet Sawmill at 1:00 and 3:00pm, and visitors are encouraged to watch this rare piece of machinery in action. The Sawmill is the oldest operating, water-powered, vertical blade sawmill in Pennsylvania and one of three in the United States. It was moved to the Homestead in 1972 from its original location in the Oley Valley.
No admission is charged for this program, but donations are welcome. Please no pets (except service animals) and no smoking on site. Several activities and demonstrations are weather dependent. This program is funded and presented by the Daniel Boone Homestead Associates.
