Yet another story on the news about a school shooting. I can’t tell you how angry this makes me.
This is just not right. Every parent has to send their child to school with the risk of them not coming back, every single day, and I am one of those parents. Something needs to be done. School is one of the places where you think your children should be completely safe, and they are not.

My children came home the other day, saying they had a practice intruder drill. That alone made me angry — that this even has to be happening in this world. The innocent children and adults losing their lives every day, time and again, in another school shooting, is just so heartbreaking.
A nine-year-old girl lost her life in this last school shooting, trying to pull the fire alarm.
I don’t understand why every single school doesn’t have metal detectors at all of the entrances, at least one police officer at every school at all times. Every single kid and adult should have their backpacks checked. You shouldn’t be allowed to enter a school without identification, and making sure you are not carrying anything, even if that means a pat-down. Honestly, we should be doing everything and anything to stop this from happening again. All of those families will never be the same again. I firmly believe that there are enough funds for the schools to do these type of things, especially the metal detectors, and if there is not enough, then money should be raised for them. I know as a parent, I would donate in a heartbeat, and I know many others who would to. It has to stop.
I just pray that more safety and security are added to all schools. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
