It’s not often that moms get the chance to do something for themselves, but Mothers Day is that one day where mama, it’s all about you. Now, for me, a perfect day would mean the chance to sleep in, hours being pampered at a spa, and talking to absolutely no one for the entire day. But in the real world, it means spending time with family, and thankfully, there are tons of great things to do in South Central PA to celebrate.
Whether you’re looking to honor your own mom or do something with your mother-in-law, or if you want to go out with your own partner and kids, there is something for everyone. - Mother’s Day Make and Take Event, Mechanicsburg: Hey kiddos! Want to make a sweet gift for your mom, grandma, auntie…anyone at all? Join us on Saturday May 13, 2023 for our annual Mother’s Day Make & Take Event. We will decorate flower pots with paint, decoupage or stickers (your choice), fill them with potting soil and plant lovely flowers for your recipient to enjoy this spring and early summer. FarmPark Admission for child/adult pair is included with your purchase price. Planter activity and all supplies plus Card making supplies, animal feed and a soft serve ice cream treat are included for each ticket holding child.
Each TICKET will allow ONE CHILD PLUS one adult caregiver per child to join us under the big tent and craft table area. Mothers Day Events in Lancaster County
- Mother’s Day Truck Convoy, Manheim: The 2023 Mother’s Day Truck Convoy and Carnival will take place on the grounds of the Manheim Pennsylvania Auto Auction. Held on Mother’s Day each year, it is a time to celebrate our wish kids and their families. And most importantly, the event raises critical funds needed to grant 75% of the annual wishes in the Susquehanna Valley.
The event brings independent drivers and trucking companies from all over the Susquehanna Valley as well as from across the country, with many drivers traveling thousands of miles to participate. In 2023 we anticipate having up to 500 drivers representing hundreds of trucking companies.
Additionally, the Mother’s Day Truck Convoy and Carnival is a community celebration drawing thousands of families and community members from across Lancaster County and beyond. The event includes carnival games, entertainment, local food trucks, and an opportunity to look at hundreds of trucks and of course, watch the official start of the Convoy. It is an extremely heartwarming event for the whole family! Ambassador Kidd-Barker will be there again this year.
- Mother’s Day Paint & Sip Brunch, Lancaster: Mother’s Day is approaching. Let us celebrate you because you deserve it and more! We will start off at 1pm with a buffet brunch. You will enjoy a delicious meal provided by our very own Chef Evita Colon. - Mother’s Day On The Farm, Landisville: THE PERFECT GIFT! Bring your Mom to the farm and spend the afternoon with the Alpacas! This is a 2 hour event held in our alpaca barn. We start the afternoon by learning about the alpacas and their unique personalities and the many stories that go with them. You will meet the other animals on the farm too and give everyone a snack! Then you each get paired with an alpaca and taught how to lead him/her. An onsite trail walk will follow your lesson. Bring your camera; there are plenty of photo ops here! After our walk we will go to our semi-open event space to have a snack and a drink. We finish your day by creating a fiber nesting wreath for your Mom/child/sibling. You will each design and assemble your own gift to give. Don’t worry, even the most artistically challenged people can handle this.
You must be 9 years old to attend. Sneakers/boots are required to walk an alpaca. Registration is required.
- 2023 Rotary Mother’s Day 5K, Elizabethtown: Run/Walk in honor of MOM! Run with MOM! Walk with MOM! Bring home a trophy to MOM! - Mother’s Day Workshop at Elizabeth Farms, Lititz: Celebrate Mom this year with Terrarium Therapy! Join us to create a beautiful gift for mom or create this versatile arrangement that can serve as a centerpiece in any home. The removable “Mother’s Day” plant stake can be added as an additional cost.
Tickets for this workshop include your choice of 5.5” or 7.5” inch corrugated ceramic planter, a variety of succulents, and dried florals with preserved eucalyptus.
During the workshop, we will discuss best practices for succulent care and maintenance, sun requirements, watering, and propagation for healthy plants.
