Where to Find a Little Free Library Around South Central PA

0

I am (or was – thanks, baby!) an avid reader. I enjoy opening a book and being transported to a different place through words. BUT, I don’t like to buy books, so library books (AKA free!) are my jam. When I want to grab a book and have it on my bookshelf for a bit, I visit a Little Free Library instead of the regular library.

Have you heard of these bookstands, or maybe even seen them around? The motto of the Little Free Library is, “Take a Book. Share a Book.” This makes books accessible for everyone!

There are over 150,000 Little Free Libraries found around the globe – I’ve happened upon them while traveling the United States and in Europe! The website lists all registered libraries, but know there are also some that aren’t found on the map. These libraries are kind of like a scavenger hunt, which makes it fun, and you never know what books you’ll find inside, since people bring whatever books they want to exchange. Some house just adult books, but most have a small selection of kids’ books, too. Anyone can make a library. They’re usually decorated in fun colors and themes, and maintained by stewards to ensure there are plenty of books for everyone.
